The Accounting Profit Blueprint features insights from FuseSign Co-Founder Melissa Voss
Melissa Voss, co-founder of FuseWorks, has been featured as a contributing author in The Accounting Profit Blueprint, a new book bringing together practical insights from leaders across the accounting industry.
Launched at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the book has been created to help accounting firms build more profitable and sustainable businesses through practical strategies, industry experience, and advice from professionals who work closely with firms.
Melissa contributed alongside Monique Parker, Amy Holdsworth, Amanda Gascoigne FCA GAICD, Darren Gleeson, Kyelie Baxter FCPA, Richard Francis FCA, Taryn Holman and Toni Eisenhut.
Melissa’s chapters focus on two areas that are central to building a stronger modern accounting firm: culture and client experience.
In “Culture That Creates Champions,” she explores how high-performing teams are built through deliberate leadership, shared goals, visible accountability and consistent operating rhythms. Drawing on FuseWorks’ own growth, including the business doubling its team size over two years, Melissa makes the case that culture is not a soft concept, but a practical system shaped by transparency, shared ownership and the behaviours a business is willing to reinforce.
In “The Client Experience Multiplier,” Melissa turns to the relationship between firms and their clients, outlining how everyday interactions can become drivers of trust, loyalty and referrals. The chapter looks at the full client lifecycle, from the first meeting through to the first 90 days and the ongoing relationship, with a focus on setting clear expectations, making progress visible, reducing friction through technology, and creating more space for the human moments that strengthen long-term relationships.
“This book is really about giving back to a profession that has given me so much throughout
my career. From my years in practice as a Chartered Accountant to building FuseWorks and working alongside accounting firms every day, I’ve
been fortunate to learn from some incredible people.
If sharing my experiences around team culture and client experience helps even one firm create a better workplace, deliver more value
to clients, or build a stronger business, then it’s been well worth it.
I believe the future of our profession depends on firms that are not only profitable, but are also places where people enjoy what they
do, clients value the experience they receive, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
The book reflects a broader industry focus on helping accounting and advisory firms strengthen their operations, improve profitability, and build more resilient practices.
